Personal Webpage

With your InfoPET Internet Access Account (personal/home use only) you have up to 5 MB of web page space on our web server to host your own personal non-business related home page. Many people will use this space to develop a site about a hobby, themselves, family or whatever their imagination leads them too. Web pages will remain on our web server as long as your account is active. Binary script execution and CGI Bin access is not allowed on personal web sites. InfoNet does not provide any technical support for personal Web Page development.

Creating your own Home Page in HTML

Web pages are written in the programming language HTML (HyperText Markup Language). The best source for information about designing and developing your own home page is the Internet itself. You will find that there are many different utilities to write, edit and convert other formats to HTML. Please checkout the following sites to learn more and get started with HTML

Adding a Counter and E-mail Reply to your Web Page

You can add the HTML tag "MAILTO" to your web pages so people can e-mail you directly from your web page simply by clicking on a button or hyperlink. The format of the MAILTO tag is as following:

<A HREF="mailto:userid@infonet.isl.net">Mail ME</A>

In the above example, when a user clicks on Mail Me, mail will be sent to userid@infonet.isl.net. When using this tag replace "userid" with your userid.

If you wish to add a counter to your page, you may do a search for "web page hit counters" on a search engine such as http://altavista.digital.com or http://www.lycos.com

The site http://www.pageresource.com/counters.htm also has several different page counters to choose from.

Please keep in mind that InfoNET cannot give any technical support for creating or maintaining personal web pages, including support for various page counters. Please consult the documentation for the hit counter you choose to use.
